“Firstly, thank you for taking the time to review this privacy notice.  Data Protection is extremely important to all of us, and at The Property Catalyst Club, we take pride in our connections and respect for the data that people share with us.

This privacy notice sets out how we have approached the topic of Data Protection, which we feel is appropriate for the size and scale of a business which at heart is building a community of trusted businesses and business owners.

This notice was written taking into account the legal requirements of the UK Data Protection Act 2018, and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR) 2016.

Who we are

We are a business that helps connect individuals and businesses via our networking events and individual introductions. In respect of Data Protection, we are the ‘Data Controller’, as defined by the DPA and the EU GDPR.  This simply means that we are ultimately accountable and responsible for deciding why we need your data, who we share it with, and how we keep it secure.

What data do we collect?

Firstly, it’s important to note that the only personal data we collect from you, is that which you freely provide through our ‘Contact us’ page. Namely this is;

  • Your Name
  • Telephone number
  • Email Address 

This is still categorised as ‘personal data’, which is any data relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, i.e. you.

Cookies

All sites make use of ‘Cookies’, but small text files that are placed on your machine to help the site provide a better user experience. In general, cookies are used to retain user preferences, store information for things like shopping carts, and provide anonymous tracking of Data to third party applications like Google Analytics.

However, as we do not require these services we have minimised Cookies to those which are required by the website to function effectively (and therefore are outside our control).

Purpose of processing

When you complete the information on our website, or provide your contact details to us, it is most likely because you are interested in attending one of our events.  Therefore the purpose of processing is in your legitimate interests.

But if you feel you do not want us to process your data, then you have a number of rights which you may exercise.

Your Rights 

The Data Protection Act and EU GDPR, give you a number of rights which you may exercise at any time. In order to do this, you simply need to contact us at  info@propertycatalystclub.co.uk.

The rights, which are relevant to you in context of The Business Catalyst Club are;

The right to be informed: You have the right to know what personal data is being collected about you, how it is being used, and who it is being shared with.

The right to object: You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data, such as if it is being processed for direct marketing purposes and you do not wish to receive marketing messages.

How we protect your personal information

The protection of your data is of paramount importance to us, and as a small business, we have taken appropriate operational and technical measures to protect your data.  This includes restricting access to the information of people and systems. Explaining exactly what controls we have implemented could leave us at risk, but please be assured we have implemented appropriate technical measures to protect your data.  These controls include anti-malware protection, encryption, back-up processes and more.

We continually review how data is secured and where appropriate we update our processes or technical controls in response to any additional measures required.

How long we retain your data

When you provide your details to us, it is on the understanding that you are interested in our events. Therefore we will continue to send you details on an infrequent basis.  This is because we recognise that you may not be able to attend one event, but may be interested in a future event.

We will therefore retain your data indefinitely until you declare you wish us to remove your data. However, on an annual basis we will contact you to ensure we have the correct contact details so that we can continue to provide you with details of events.

Who we share your data with

We use a cloud platform to store your data, however. They do not have access to your personal information due to out security controls (such as password protected and encryption). The data you share with us is only used by us. The only time we would share your personal data is on an individual case-by-case basis, and only with your strict permission (e.g. making a connection between two individuals for mutual benefit).
